Custom Embroidery — School Uniform Identity for Prestigious Kampala Academy
Posted in :
Some projects arrive with a clear brief. This one arrived with a vision. A well-established private school in Kampala reached out to us in early 2026 wanting to completely overhaul the way their students and staff presented themselves — not just a new logo on a shirt, but a full identity refresh across every piece of fabric their community wore every single day.
The Brief
The school administration sat down with us and laid it out simply: “We want our uniforms to look prestigious. We want parents dropping their children off to feel proud, and we want staff to feel like professionals the moment they get dressed.” That kind of brief gets us excited.
They wanted embroidered crests on blazers, embroidered name tags on shirts, and embroidered patches on sports kits. Three categories, dozens of variations across different year groups and departments — all needing to feel cohesive, sharp, and durable enough to survive years of school life.

The Process
We started by digitising the school crest — converting the existing artwork into an embroidery file format that our machines could read precisely. This step matters more than most clients realise. A design that looks clean on paper can become a tangled mess in thread if the digitising is done carelessly. Stitch angles, density, underlay — every detail was dialled in before a single needle touched fabric.
We ran three rounds of samples across different fabric weights: the blazer wool blend, the standard shirt cotton, and the polyester sports kit. Each responded differently to the thread tension and required its own calibration. By the time we presented the final samples to the school’s uniform committee, every piece was production-ready.

What We Delivered
- 340 embroidered blazer crests across junior and senior year groups
- 580 embroidered name tags on staff and student shirts
- 120 embroidered patches on sports kits for five different teams
- Full digitised embroidery file archive handed over to the school for future reorders
The school re-opened for the new term with a uniformed community that looked — and felt — different. The deputy headteacher sent us a message the first week: “The parents noticed immediately. We had three compliments before assembly was over.” That’s the kind of outcome we work for.

If your organisation needs embroidered uniforms, workwear, or branded apparel that holds up in the real world, get in touch with us. We handle everything from digitising to delivery.
